BAC participates in the European project COST 1406

BAC, Civil Engineering department has participated in the "COST 1406, Quality specifications for roadway bridges, standardization at a European level", one of the projects of the International Program of European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research COST.

The main objective of the Action is to develop a guideline for the establishment of QC plans in roadway bridges, by integrating the most recent knowledge on performance assessment procedures with the adoption of specific goals. Developing new approaches to quantify and assess the bridge performance, as well as quality specifications to assure an expected performance level, bridge management strategies will be significantly improved, enhancing asset management of ageing structures in Europe.

Viviana A. Sossa as a Spain member has represented BAC Engineering Consultancy Group in this important project, she has collaborated with the organization of the 8th WG WORKSHOP, carried out in 2018 in Barcelona and participated in the final conference in Guimarães in 2019.

Additionally a civil engineering department gropu in combination with the UPC, Viviana A. Sossa, Armen Bartra, and Joan Ramon Casas, developed a case study representative of Spain, contributing to the analysis of work group.
