The ACA awards BAC the project of the Foix reservoir canal network

The ACA has awarded the contract to draft the project to the BAC civil works team in a joint venture with ERH Consult

The Catalan Water Agency, ACA, has awarded BAC the “Project design for the rehabilitation of the Foix reservoir channel network, in the municipalities of Vilanova i la Geltrú, Cubelles and Sant Pere de Ribes”.

The work to be carried out by the project team consists of all those that allow the optimal development of a construction project that defines in detail the works to be executed in the canal sections, both in technical, design, and economic, environmental and administrative, in compliance with current regulations that may be applicable and the specific ones stipulated by the ACA and that allow the execution of the rehabilitation works of the sections of the primary network canals.

In general terms, the work carried out by BAC includes:

  • Analysis of the current situation
  • Characterization and diagnosis of the current status of the channels
  • Topography
  • Environmental documentation
  • Hydraulic public domain
  • Construction project

The Foix dam and the network of channels that come out of it constitute a system of regulation and distribution of flows, eminently for irrigation use.

The primary network of irrigation canals is owned by the ACA and consists of 3 main sections that total about 30 km and its layout in plan crosses isolated urbanizations, industrial zones, fields of cultivation, borders highways and roads of the municipal terms of Vilanova i la Geltrú, Cubelles and Sant Pere de Ribes.
