Our monitoring department has attended the geotechnical and structural workshop organized by the Association of Structural Consultants
Our communication, presented by Josep Raventós, the manager of the department, was focused on the use of monitoring as a tool to measure and to take decisions, and about the need to use the knowledge of the instruments and the way we intall them as well as the knowledge on geotechnical and structural behavior in order to obtain reliable and useful data that can help risk management and decision makers. We also discuss about the use of an automatic monitoring system at the Montjuïc graveyard and briefly we present two technologies that shortly will become a standard: fiber optics and InSAR.
