The PRACE-SHAPE program, funded in part by the European Horizon 2020 framework, aims to bring the capabilities and benefits of High Performance Computing (HPC) and supercomputing centers to small and medium-sized enterprises to science and technology. PRACE seeks to accomplish this mission by offering world-class computing and data management resources and services through a peer review process.
This participation, during the years 2016 and 2017, allowed to carry out the research project titled “Numerical Simulation of Accidental Fires with a Spillage of Oil in Large Buildings”.
This project, led by Carlos Muñoz, Director of the Company’s Fire and Wind Engineering Department, has made it possible to increase knowledge in the field of fire engineering, and more specifically in computer simulations of large liquid fuel fires industrial complexes. The project has been carried out thanks to the intensive collaboration of the technical team of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS).
