The BAC team makes a high altitude visit

Employees and family members have participated in an activity in which they have been able to see first-hand one of the most singular projects that BAC has developed during 2021.

This weekend, part of the BAC team has had the opportunity to make a visit to the heights, specifically to the Creussans watchtower in Ordino, which is located at a height of 2,701m.

The meeting, which was attended by both company colleagues and their families, has made it possible to learn about one of the most emblematic projects that have been carried out at BAC and which was inaugurated in July of this year, and which has served to resume activities recreational activities organized by the company and that were suspended due to COVID.

The ascent to the peak was made with the chairlift from the Ordino-Arcalís ski resort, having to overcome a slight difference in level to reach the Mirador.

Once at the top, Luís Moya, Vice President of BAC and Cristian Fernández, from the Building Department, have been in charge of explaining the details of a project as unique as this one since they have been responsible for the structural engineering part, both in the project phase and in the construction management.

After the visit and subsequent descent on the chairlift, the whole group was able to enjoy lunch at the La Coma refuge.

As an anecdote, it is worth mentioning that the day after the visit, the panorama of the viewpoint was very different since the first snow fell of the season.

This project has been a challenge at a structural level, both due to its complexity and the environment in which it has been built, in this link you can read the technical article written by Lluis Moya and Cristian Fernández.
